After a long wait and much negotiating with Preston City Council the Friends finally have a place to call home.
We have been able to lease a small building on the park that was once the old gardeners hut and repurpose it into a warm and inviting space for our regular meetings and other activities.
After the Council had finished some essential works and repairs the Friends volunteers got to work cleaning and decorating to make the space habitable again.
We received generous paint donations from ‘Paintwell’ at Lane Ends and from our friends at ‘Billington Lodge’ as well as a fridge and some chairs.
Here are some before and after pics and as you can see we have been busy but we now have a great space just for the Friends.
Thanks to everyone that’s helped and for all the kind donations received, we just need to wait for some warmer weather to spruce up the outside too.
