Planting Session

Increase In Park Bio Diversity Project

This year the Friends Group are working on an exciting project alongside Preston City Council, that will help to increase the bio-diversity of our park.

You may have noticed a marked out area next to the recently planted Spring Wood that is going to be left unmown for the summer.

It may sound as simple as letting the grass grow, but as this area has been mown grass for many years. We will also be planting wildflowers in the area that should help develop future flowering plants and grasses.

In the late Autumn we will cut the grass and rake the area which will then improve the future regrowth of the grasses and flowers.

There’s still time to get involved. Join us this Saturday afternoon to help plant some wildflowers.
